What are the responsibilities & duties of a GIS Data Analyst

  • Support and maintain GIS platforms and data collection tools.
  • Create and maintain metadata, maps, and GIS analysis reports.
  • Perform spatial analysis and operations with vector, raster, and terrain data.
  • Develop and maintain geospatial databases and ensure data integrity.
  • Conduct geoprocessing and analysis of collected field data.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshoot user issues with GIS software.
  • Collaborate with teams for data-driven decision-making and project development.
  • Create and contribute to technical reports and documentation.
  • Participate in quality assurance and control of spatial information products.
  • Manage the integration and conversion of CAD datasets to GIS.
  • Conduct spatial data analysis, prepare geodatabases, and develop geospatial tools.
  • Prepare and present maps and other geospatial data visualizations.

What are the required skills & experiences of a GIS Data Analyst?

  • Proficiency in GIS software, particularly ESRI ArcGIS Pro.
  • Strong understanding of spatial analysis techniques and geoprocessing.
  • Knowledge of database management, including experience with SQL.
  • Experience in cartography and creating custom maps.
  • Familiarity with data collection tools and data management procedures.
  • Understanding of coordinate systems and geospatial data formats.
  • Proficiency in Python scripting for automation and data manipulation.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance and quality control on spatial datasets.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, GIS, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team and manage deadlines.
